A member of staff from Specsavers in Stratford-upon-Avon opticians has come top of the class in a national examination scheme run by the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO).

Claudio Tarrantino, a trainee contact lens optician with the store, gained the highest combined mark in the country in the contact lens theory exam in 2017.  In doing so he will receive an ABDO prize.

Hard work and determination

The father-of-one joined Specsavers in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2011 with no optical experience, but thanks to his hard work and determination, and the support of his store directors, has quickly progressed through the ranks.

Congratulations from the store director

‘To pick up the ABDO prize is a real achievement and a testament to Claudio’s continued commitment to his work and development,’ said store director Jon Belcher.

‘We’re immensely proud of what he’s achieved and will be supporting him as he looks to the next part of his career progression.

‘As a store we are committed to supporting and developing our team, and I believe this is evident, both through our staff loyalty and our excellent customer service.’
