The staff at Specsavers Stranraer is providing older members of the community with some welcome festive cheer this Christmas.
Staff at Specsavers in Stranraer are encouraging customers to donate to the Coronation Day Centre when they are in store for an eye test or to collect frames.
Coronation Day Centre helps prevent social isolation by providing a meeting place where people aged 60 and over can take part in recreational and leisure activities. It also provides respite care, information, advice and practical assistance.
Specsavers Stranraer store director Elaine Hawthorn said: ‘Coronation Day Centre is a big part of the Stranraer community and provides a vital service.
We provide eyecare support and advice to older people who use the centre, so we understand what a positive impact it has. It’s so important for older people to have a place where they can socialise and take part in activities to keep their mind and body healthy.
We hope that our customers choose to make a donation when they’re visiting the store.’
