More than 300 non-clinicians from Specsavers stores across the North East have trained as RNIB Ambassadors this autumn.

The ambassador training, which was developed by Specsavers and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), is aimed at complementing the skills of the highly qualified optometrists in store.

During their training, the team members focused on how to ensure they are best accommodating customers with low vision in store and learning more about the advanced eye care services now available at Specsavers.

Ambassador status

The specialist training was introduced to mark National Eye Health Week earlier this autumn and the ambassadors now proudly display a badge on their uniforms.
