Guy Loveday, store director at Specsavers in Kingston Upon Thames, Putney and Surbiton is delighted to support an employment scheme to secure paid employment for individuals experiencing learning difficulties.
Working with Balance
The three stores have started to work with and support Balance, a not for profit organisation based in South West London. Guy says: ‘Our community is very fortunate to have an active, not-for-profit organisation that helps to secure jobs for people who may struggle – for various reasons - to find employment.
'When Balance approached us about their employment scheme, their commitment and the level of support given to its clients impressed us.
‘We have been working closely with Balance to induct two individuals into our promotional team. Their Team Leader, Marta Gimenez, has supported the new recruits during their training sessions and we are delighted to welcome Rahim and Steven as part-time recruits.'
Why it matters
‘The work Balance does has a direct impact on our community. It helps to build confidence in the work place for those who may have struggled in the past, and become less reliant on other services. We now look forward to helping Rahim and Steven achieve their full potential.’
