Store director Helen Bekhodja wants to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated over £2,400 following her recent run in the London Marathon.

In aid of Blind Veterans

Helen ran the London Marathon to raise funds for the Lions Foundation in aid of Blind Veterans UK. All monies raised will now be donated to Blind Veterans UK Llandudno Centre, providing new rehabilitation facilities to enable those with sight loss to live an independent life.

Over-whelmed by the support

Says Helen:  'The support has been amazing and I feel very humbled by everyone's contributions.  I am delighted to have raised £2,413 for the cause that will see new buildings at the Llandudno Centre become a state-of- the-art Rehabilitation Complex for current and ex-service personnel whose lives have been immeasurably altered, indeed shattered, whilst they were protecting our safety.'

A great time for Helen

Needless to say, the London Marathon isn't for the faint hearted!  Helen finished the race in 6 hours, 24 minutes and while she admits it was tough in parts, the crowd's support made it an exhilarting experience.

On behalf of all her colleagues and customers at Specsavers in Staines, Feltham and Egham - we say a big 'well done, Helen!'
