The Slough team have held a Despicable Me themed colouring competition in store following the recently launched Minions range of children’s frames.
The store offered children between the ages of 4-7 and 8-12 the chance to win an exclusive pair of Minions frames by colouring in a Despicable Me 3 themed picture.
De-Spec-able Me winners
Emaan Farooq and Abdur-Rahman Khan were the two talented youngsters to be picked out of the many entries for the colouring competition. Their brightly coloured artworks stood out from the crowd and both were gifted with a pair of Minions frames.
A word from the director
David Martin, ophthalmic director at Specsavers in Slough, said: ‘We have so much creative talent in the younger generations in Slough and we wanted to give budding young artists and film fans a real chance to shine. We were so impressed with Emaan and Abdur’s entries that we had to choose them.
‘We also wanted this competition to encourage parents to have their children’s eyes tested. Having good eyesight is one of the most important tools in a child’s learning - around 80% of everything a child learns is through their vision - so even a minor problem with a child’s sight can mean they suffer huge setbacks in their development at school.’
