Store managers get involved
More than 250 runners entered the race, which takes runners on a scenic route around Scredington and Burton Pedwardine, including Specsavers store managers Kathleen Gray and Kathryn Carroll. All those who completed the course were treated to cakes baked by the Sleaford Striders.
The team at Specsavers Sleaford sponsors both the Striders and the event in Scredington, providing the finishing arch for the race, the medals for competitors and bottles of water. The medals were cupcake shaped, as a playful nod to the treats offered after the race.
‘The Scredington 10k is a really popular local event and really brings the community together,’ says store director Bijal Ladva. ‘We have supported the Sleaford Striders for several years now, and it was fantastic to have contributed to the success of their race.’
