The team at Specsavers Sevenoaks are delighted to be able to congratulate a local yoga prodigy on winning a prestigious youth award.
Ishwar Vishwanath Sharma, from Halstead, received a British Citizen Youth Award at a special ceremony at the Palace of Westminster at the end of October.
Inspirational young people
The British Citizen Youth Awards are run in association with Specsavers. Their purpose is to recognise inspirational young people who are making a valuable contribution to their community, society or a chosen cause.
Ishwar has only just turned 9, but has already won a number of yoga competitions and has performed over 100 times all over the world. He started doing yoga at the age of three when he started copying his dad, and would love to train as a yoga teacher when he is old enough.
A word from the store director
Maxine Chakowa, store director at Specsavers Sevenoaks, said: ‘Ishwar is a really inspirational young man, who has achieved an amazing amount at a really young age. None of us in store can wait to see what he does next.
‘The British Citizen Youth Awards are a real celebration of the part that so many inspirational young people play in making their local communities, and wider society, a much better place. Long may they continue.’
