Derry~Londonderry ophthalmic director Sean McCauley is celebrating 15 years as a store director at Specsavers and was presented with his long service award for reaching the milestone.

Born and bred in Derry

Born and bred in Derry, Sean graduated in optometry from UMIST in 1990 and has over 29 years of experience as an optician. He worked for Specsavers in the Republic of Ireland before joining the Ferryquay Street store team in 2011. Sean and fellow director Maeve Walsh marked the Ferryquay Street store’s 25th anniversary in 2019 and expanded in June 2019 with the opening of a new Crescent Link retail park store.

Chair of Specsavers NI wide

Sean is currently the regional chair of Specsavers in Northern Ireland. In this role, he represents and leads fellow Specsavers store directors from 23 stores across Northern Ireland, as well as audiology and home visits businesses. Sean’s remit includes focusing on local priorities, helping to implement the annual business plan and raising the company’s profile as a leading optical and audiology business in Northern Ireland.
