Meet the store manager - Chris
Tell us a bit about yourself
I am a dispensing optician as well as being store manager, and I also do all the training for the team. I have worked in the Seaford branch for 8 years, and have worked for Specsavers for nearly 15 years.
I am passionate about helping all of our patients with their eyes and ears, and about making sure my team are the best they can be.
We pride ourselves on our customer service, friendliness and attention to detail. As a Platinum Employer, we also pride ourselves on being a great place to work and develop a career.
Do you wear glasses yourself? If so, which style do you like best?
I do wear glasses as I am short-sighted, and I also wear contact lenses – mainly when I am at work.
Style wise, I really like round frames – which are in at the moment – and our newest men's range from Diesel, as these are super nice frames and super nice quality.
If you could have anyone, living or dead, come into your store for an eye test, who would it be and why?
Probably Jimi Hendrix to see if we could help correct his 'Purple Haze'.
How did you come to run a Specsavers store?
I was working in another branch, and had worked my way up to assistant manager. The store directors there also had Seaford branch and the position came up. I put myself forward – with a clear idea of what I could make better – and the rest is history.
What does your job involve?
A bit of everything to be honest, but that suits me perfectly. I love being involved in every part of both the patient's journey and the ordering and manufacturing of their spectacles. I also help out regionally.
