This Red Nose Day will see members of staff from a Scarborough Specsavers do their bit for Comic Relief by taking part in a sponsored waxing.

The brave staff members from Specsavers in Scarborough will be undergoing their ordeal on Red Nose Day itself, Friday 24 March.

The two optical advisors, David Brown and Brian Johnston, will be welcoming donations as they have their chest and back waxed, respectively, for charity.

Alasdair Corbett, store director at Specsavers in Scarborough, said: ‘We’re so proud of David and Brian volunteering to get involved in our sponsored day in aid of Comic Relief.

‘It might be a bit of fun but its raising money for a great cause, so we’re hoping the people of Scarborough will donate generously!’

The store located on Westborough has sponsorship forms available and will be welcoming donations all week in the run up to the event.

Specsavers in Scarborough is also now selling special comedy waving hand glasses, priced at just £2 with all money raised from sales of the specs going to Comic Relief.
