Rugby raises pounds for Pudsey
The team at Specsavers Rugby will put fundraising in the frame this November, raising much needed funds for Children in Need.
Members of staff will be collecting donations for the national charity on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 November, selling a range of home baked cakes asking customers and passers-by to guess the name of the teddy in exchange for donations.
Making a difference
‘The money raised at the weekend will go towards helping disadvantaged children and young people across the country,’ explained store director, Bhavna Hughes. ‘Children in Need is a brilliant organisation and this fundraising event is the perfect opportunity to work together to make a difference.’
The team will also swap their usual uniforms in favour of Pudsey ears and polka dot outfits to raise awareness of the appeal and boost fundraising totals further.
Bhavna added: ‘I’d like to encourage our local community to dig deep and help us raise as much money as we can for this fantastic charity!’
Children in Need is the BBC’s UK corporate charity and every penny raised goes towards helping disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
The charity provides support in the form of grants to organisations working with children who may have experienced mental, physical or sensory disabilities, behavioural or psychological disorders, are living in poverty or situations of deprivation, or are suffering through distress, abuse or neglect.
