Specsavers in Romford have championed the important role High Street Opticians play in maintaining the eye health of local residents during a meeting with the town’s MP.
43 years of combined experience
Directors, Kevan Green who has worked at Specsavers for 31 years, Bhavi Mistry who qualified in 2011 and Andrew Aiston a Retail Director of six years, welcomed Andrew Rosindell to the store on South Street on Friday 28 July.
The Member of Parliament for Romford got to learn more about the range of services on offer at the store, including eye examinations and audiology services.
During the visit, Mr Rosindell was shown the importance of eye examinations for not only monitoring changes in a person’s eyesight, but also for detecting sight-threatening conditions such as diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts and high blood pressure.
Vital services to the local community
Bhavi, showcased the store’s state-of-the-art technology and equipment, as well as guiding Mr Rosindell through the stages of an eye examination and explaining the importance of each one. The team also educated the MP on their lesser known services, such as a DVLA clinic and diabetic screening.
Mr Rosindell says: ‘Visits like this to local businesses are important. As MPs we can’t be experts on everything so it’s important that we see the work that stores like Specsavers are doing, providing the local community with vital services to contribute towards the wellbeing of every one of Romford’s residents.’
Kevan Green adds: ‘It was a pleasure to meet with Mr Rosindell to showcase the important work we do as eyecare providers.
‘We have long been championing the importance of regular eye examinations in our healthcare routines and this opportunity allowed us to bring it to life and put it at the forefront of the healthcare agenda in Romford.’
