When he is not looking after the eye health of local people, optometrist director at Specsavers Romford Kevan Green loves nothing more than creating delicious meals in his kitchen at home.
Which made him the perfect choice to take a couple of hours out from life at the South Street store to present a Specsavers award for book sales to celebrity chef and author Tom Kerridge.
Silver award for Tom
His book, ‘Lose Weight For Good’, is the first to sell 250,000 copies in 2018 – an impressive feat in just two months, and one which gets him a Silver award.
The Specsavers Bestseller Awards are powered by Nielsen Book, the official recorder of book sales in the UK.
Kevan said: ‘Huge congratulations to Tom for becoming the first author this year to be presented with a Silver Specsavers Bestseller Award. And even better, he is a really lovely man. It was great to meet him.
‘Good eyesight is crucial for reading and we know so many of our customers love sitting down – or in this case getting in the kitchen – with a good book. So if you have not had an eye test for a while, why not pop in and see us.’
