Specsavers in Richmond was in a celebratory mood after the business was recognised with a Platinum Employer award for its outstanding management standards and staff development.

The team received the honour after being externally assessed on five key areas of people management standards, including talent management, employee communications and staff development.

Always improving

Specsavers regional relationship manager Mark Paine handed over the award to Specsavers Richmond store directors Lee Penfold and Jayesh Solankey during a presentation at the store this month.

Lee says: ‘We work hard to support members of the team and provide them with opportunities to progress and learn new skills, so we're delighted to be recognised for this with the Platinum Employer award.’

Growing standards

John Perkins, Specsavers joint group CEO, said: ‘The Platinum Employer initiative is one that Specsavers fully supports and we hope that over time all Specsavers stores will be awarded this status.

‘Platinum Employer is an externally validated accreditation scheme which aims to raise the bar of people management standards and make Specsavers well known for being a great place to work.’
