Generous staff from Specsavers in Portsmouth helped Queen Alexandra Hospital get in the festive spirit last month by providing Christmas gifts to young patients.

Specsavers Portsmouth admin manager Patsy de Ste Croix and optical assistant Chloe Merrivale paid a visit to the paediatric ward of the hospital and brought along a wealth of presents donated by members of the Specsavers Portsmouth team.

It formed part of the team’s support for the recent Christmas Jumper Day activity, which saw Specsavers stores around the UK encouraging staff to wear festive knits and raise money for the Save the Children charity.

Julia Moulton, store director at Specsavers Portsmouth, said: ‘We wanted to do something extra for the latest Christmas Jumper Day and thought it would be a great opportunity to bring some joy to children at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

‘The presents were greatly appreciated and we have since received a thank you card from the hospital for the donation.’
