Petersfield proud to back Blind Veterans
Specsavers in Petersfield showed its support for brave servicemen and women living with sight loss by hosting an event to raise money for Blind Veterans UK this month.
Funds for a good cause
The team held a dress down day and set up their own in-store cake stall, treating customers to a variety of homemade goods. The stall was branded with a Blind Veterans logo and collection tin, with proceeds from sales of the cakes going directly to the good cause.
The donations will be used by Blind Veterans UK to support people who have served in the Armed Forces or done National Service and are now suffering with significant sight loss.
The charity provides a full range of services, including training and rehabilitation, to help blind veterans lead independent and fulfilling lives.
Jo Cox, store director at Specsavers Petersfield, said: ‘The team were awesome with their support for Blind Veterans UK this year, and we had plenty of donations coming in from customers buying cakes from us.
‘The charity provides much-needed care to thousands of people who protect our welfare so we are proud to assist them in any way we can.’
