In honour of Remembrance Sunday and to pay their respects and gratitude to military service personnel, the Penrith Specsavers team came up with a creative way to fundraise for Blind Veterans UK.

The 1940s fundraiser was a success

The team came to work dressed in 1940s style costumes, as well as hosting a bake sale, and raised £69 in total.

Blind Veterans UK support anyone who has served in the Armed Forces, or who has done National Service, and who is now living with significant sight loss.

Great support for a worthwhile cause

Peter Walker, Penrith store director, said: ‘It was great to dress up and do something to support such a worthwhile cause. We are all immensely thankful to our military service and to Blind Veterans UK for all the work they do to support our military personnel. It was a fun day and the team really enjoyed their 1940s makeover!’
