Two local opticians celebrated ‘Wear it Pink Day’ in aid of Breast Cancer Now and raised £40.
The teams at Specsavers in Airdrie and Coatbridge donned the colour pink and played a pink bonbon guessing game on Friday 23 October.
Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity and is dedicated to funding research. The charity believes that by acting now, by 2050 everyone who develops breast cancer will live, but fundraising is vital to make it happen.
The spirit of fundraising
Laura Mullett, store director at Specsavers Airdrie and Coatbridge, said: 'It’s been an unusual year but we didn’t want to miss an opportunity to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now. We swapped our usual bake sale and events for a pink dress code and competition for the team to guess how many sweeties were in the jar. It was great to see everyone from both stores taking part.'
