A local youth football team is benefitting from the support of the Specsavers team in Normanton, which has provided kit as part of its ongoing sponsorship pledge.
The store supports the Normanton All Stars U9 football team and has so far provided the team’s full kit complete with Specsavers branding. Store director, Paresh Gohil, visited the club to watch the children play in the new designs.
The store’s dispenser, Sophie Javed, has a personal connection to the All Stars, as her son plays for the team. ‘The team has been keen to get some help from a local business with kit and equipment,’ explained Sophie. ‘The club is self-funded, and donations are crucial to helping the children progress as a team.’
A word from the store director
‘We’re delighted to help in any way we can,’ said Normanton store director Paresh Gohil. ‘It’s important to us that we give back to our local community, and sport is such a positive thing for children to help develop team spirit and a healthy lifestyle.
‘Eye care is an important part of overall health, and we recommend that children have tests every two years from the age of three, to ensure that poor eyesight doesn’t hold them back.’
