Specsavers in Newtownards has relocated to bigger and better premises in Conway Square, providing an even higher level of service to customers locally.

All new practice

The practice has been providing eye care to the local community in Newtownards for the past 16 years, and the new, state-of-the-art, two-storey opticians houses a new lab and testing equipment with new testing rooms.

The store also has a new layout, which replaces traditional reception desks with mobile, standing or seated service points and customers greeted and registered on tablets. While the store is laid out across two floors, it provides accessibility in line with the business’s Equality Commission status.

Extra staff for extra services

Leigh Nelson, store director at Specsavers Newtownards said: ‘The larger space enables us to have an audiologist in store one day per week, and we also have an audiology assistant here in store full time.

‘We have 22 staff at our store, and to help provide more services, we have employed two new optometrists, while three of our dispensing opticians have gained their Cert 3 in dispensing and one has received their Cert 4.’

Family fun day in September

The whole team will be celebrating with the town, this weekend, on Saturday 16 September with a family fun day and launch party. Leigh continued; ‘We are going to have a host of family fun, with Cool FM street teams and road show, lots of costumed characters and plenty to giveaway to those who want to come and join the fun on Conway Square.’
