BBC weather reporter launches new opticians
The new state-of-the-art Specsavers store in Newton Mearns was officially opened on Saturday 23rd September by BBC Scotland weather presenter Christopher Blanchett.
The TV weather man cut the ribbon at an official launch party to kick off the day, alongside store directors Ruth Lalor and Emma Robb, and met staff and customers during the opening celebrations.
A host of activities took place throughout the day including face painting and locals also had a chance to mark the occasion with a slice of cake.
A word from our store director
Emma Robb said: ‘After months of planning, we are delighted to officially open our doors in Newton Mearns.
‘We would like to thank Christopher Blanchett for helping us mark the launch of the store and all the customers who stopped by during our celebrations.
‘Customers can expect fantastic service and advice, state-of-the-art equipment, and an excellent selection of glasses here in store.
'We’re committed to providing the residents of Newton Mearns with the best optical and hearing services around and we have one of the strongest offerings in the area.’
The new store, which has created 10 new jobs in the area, offers two test rooms, a dedicated contact lens department, and an in-store Hearing Centre.
