Specsavers Newry has donated £1,332 to their store’s local charity, Women’s Aid, after a year of fundraising for the charity.
Fundraising activities included organising coffee mornings, a pub quiz and a staff tuck shop in which proceeds went towards the services and projects of Women’s Aid Newry. Deirdre McDermott, fundraising officer of Specsavers Newry comments, ‘Specsavers Newry are delighted to present Women’s Aid Newry with our donation. The fundraising events have been fun as well as informative for staff and customers regarding what the charity does for the Newry and it has been a way for us to give something back to the community in addition to our eye and ear care expertise. The events have also been a great way to socialise with our customers and staff throughout the year too.’
