Keep an eye out for this year’s Christmas lights switch on
Specsavers Newmarket will be offering cakes and contact lenses today as the team aims to fundraise for Children in Need ahead of this year’s Christmas lights switch on.
Come and grab a cake
The store will be extending its opening hours to 7pm and offering cakes from some of the staff and the store’s baking queen and optical assistant, Michelle Johnson, as part of this year’s Children in Need theme ‘Do Your Thing’.
The store will also be offering glasses adjustments in return for donations to the charity made famous by Pudsey Bear, to ensure residents and customers can watch the Christmas lights in clarity.
Don't miss a thing
Samantha Moore, store director and part of the team who will be outside the store offering optical advice and guidance, says: ‘Children in Need is obviously a massive charity and what better time to fundraise than when everyone is out in force and beginning to feel the festive spirit.
‘Children in Need gives us the chance to showcase our staff’s hidden talents and provide Newmarket with professional advice and guidance in return for funds towards an incredible cause. Pop by before the Christmas lights show at 7pm for a slice of cake and make sure your eyes are in check so you don’t miss a thing.’
