Dr Ahmed Sivardeen, store director of Specsavers New Malden, has been honoured with the prestigious Fellowship of the College of Optometrists for his tireless contribution to the field of optometry.

Prestigious award

The Fellowship is the College’s highest award and is given to optometrists in acknowledgement of their ‘commitment to the profession, experience and accomplishments’.

Dr Sivardeen was delighted to receive the accolade from president of the College of Optometrists, Dr Mary-Ann Sherratt, during a presentation held at Central Hall Westminster earlier this year.

'Incredible achievement'

He said: ‘It was a tremendous honour to receive the Fellowship from Mary-Ann.

'I have dedicated much of my professional life to studying and growing awareness about optometry, so to be recognised by your peers in this way is an incredible achievement.’
