Specsavers Musselburgh donned their Christmas jumpers for charity

Staff at Specsavers Musselburgh donned their favourite Christmas jumpers to raise £70 for Cody’s Xmas Cycle Challenge – a charity set up by Cody McManus to raise money to buy children bikes for Christmas after learning some children will never own or learn how to ride a bike.

Staff wore their favourite festive jumpers in order to raise funds from kind customers who dug deep to help.

Keen boxer Cody, aged 9, embarked on a 36 mile cycle – the distance from The Falkirk Wheel back to Holyrood Boxing Gym where he trains – in order to gift bikes for Christmas to disadvantaged children across Edinburgh.

British Citizen Youth Award

Cody was announced as a medallist for this year’s British Citizen Youth Award (BCyA) in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to society and acts of kindness.

Now in its second year, the BCyA, in association with Specsavers, seeks to highlight the many acts of bravery, kindness and compassion carried out by young people across the UK.
