Q: Tell us a bit about yourself
A: My name is Paul Showman and I'm a store director at the Swinton, Fallowfield and Wythenshawe stores. I'm married with three children and two grandchildren.
Q: How did you come to run a Specsavers store?
A: I had run a well-established, independent practice for 20 years and recognised that I could offer more services and value by being part of Specsavers so I decided to acquire franchises.
Q: Do you wear specs, and if so, what is your favourite style?
A: Yes I do. I really like supra (semi-rimless) styles as they're both comfortable and fashionable.
Q: What does your job at Specsavers Opticians involve?
A: I'm an optometrist, specialising in diabetic screening, glaucoma screening and contact lenses.
Q: How long have you been with the company?
A: 12 years.
Q: What is the best part of your role?
A: I enjoy helping people with their vision problems. It's really satisfying when you can make a positive difference to a customer.
