Computer game day raises hundreds for charity
Specsavers in Market Harborough raised £450.00 for Alzheimer's Research UK in September with an in-store computer game-themed event.
The team from Specsavers hosted the fundraising and entertainment event at the store on St Mary’s Place where customers played air hockey, a life-sized Angry Birds game, and a retro arcade machine loaded with classic games.
Specsavers staff also dressed as their favourite computer characters across the ages.
A word from the store director
Store director, Barry Henning, said: 'We're always delighted to fundraise for such a great charity. Alzheimer's Research UK aims to defeat dementia and our event will help raise funds for those affected.
'Our fun computer game day was thought up by our staff, who love to dress up and entertain customers for good causes. It's wonderful to be able to support Alzheimer's Research UK in this way and give something back. Thank you to everyone who came along to the store and supported the computer day fun.’
