Introducing the store director of Specsavers in Margate
One of David's fabulous paintings

Introducing David Bryant, Margate's store director, as he tells answers a few questions about himself.

How did you come to run a Specsavers store? How long have you been with Specsavers?

I have been at Specsavers for 25 years and decided to become a Specsavers director to gain more independence in my working life – my dream was to build a business I could be proud of!

Why is it so important to get your eyes checked regularly?

Getting your eyes checked regularly is fundamental – this allows any eye problems to be picked up and treated at the earliest possible opportunity, which helps protect your vision.

What are your hobbies?

I have drawn and painted since I was a boy and became passionate about Second World War aviation after seeing the aircraft above my home when they were filming the 'Battle of Britain' movie at the age of eight.

Now, I paint for today’s fighting men and women – I deeply respect them and I am happy to give them my work at no charge. It means a lot for me to know that my work will remain with the various units for as long as they exist, alongside paintings that are centuries old.
