Malvern eyes up a new opticians
A new opticians has opened its doors in Malvern.
The store opened on Saturday 6 January, offering affordable, professional eye and hearing care to the local community.
New jobs in the local area
Five full time jobs have been created as a result of the store opening, which acts as a sister store to Specsavers in Worcester run by the same directors, Alan Richards and Dean Roberts supported by new store director, Jurgen Dreyer.
The store has two test rooms on the ground floor, one of which is also fully sound proofed to cater for hearing appointments. There will be additional test rooms on the first floor to cater for demand when needed.
It is kitted out with latest innovative equipment including an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine which works as a 3D scanner to allow the optometrists to view the eye in more detail.
It is used for a variety of functions including screening and management of conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. Where the optometrist deems it necessary customers will receive this service at a cost of £10.
A word from the store director
‘Dean, Jurgen and I are very excited about the opening of the store in Malvern,’ said store director Alan Richards.
‘It’s a great location, offering easy access and free parking for customers – making life easier for those from Malvern and the surrounding areas.’
Digital Precision Eyecare
Customers will also benefit from Digital Precision Eyecare, which ensures everyone receives the very best professional care and advice in frame selection and dispensing for their prescription, vision and lifestyle needs.
The technology allows the optical team to help customers select their glasses following an eye examination. Imaging software on a tablet takes a photo of them wearing the glasses, which in turn captures a range of essential dispensing measurements. These are unique to the customer and their chosen specs.
