Longton brews up hundreds for Macmillan
The Longton team raised over £250 in vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support with a successful ‘Bake Off’ event judged by Staffordshire’s own ‘Miss Photogenic’ Georgia Parks.
Specsavers on Market Street brewed up and whipped up a delicious range of sweet treats for customers visiting the store. Seven team members took part in total, with the overall winner Lisa Russell scooping the coveted ‘best bake’ prize for her four-layered caramel and chocolate cake.
Raising vital funds
The store is a longstanding supporter of Macmillan Cancer Support. The charity’s goal is to provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support for those battling cancer and their families.
A word from the store director
Tracey Britton, store director at Specsavers Longton, said: ‘It was a great atmosphere in store on the day, with some delicious bakes on offer.
‘Each year Macmillan helps millions of people and anyone who has been affected by cancer understands what a special charity Macmillan is, so thank you to every customer that joined us on the day and helped make a difference.’
