William Gaughan, a resident of Burngrange Care Home in Livingston, recently celebrated his 100th birthday in style thanks to Specsavers Home Visits.

Birthday treats

The Home Visits team at Specsavers Livingston presented William with a personalised cake, balloons and a pair of new designer glasses as a birthday surprise.

Ted Akil, store director of Specsavers Livingston, said: ‘Our team was testing in the care home, as part of our home visit service, a couple of months ago and noticed William’s 100th birthday was coming up so we arranged a special surprise with his family and staff to make sure he really celebrated in style.’

Home Visits

Specsavers’ home visiting service provides a comprehensive eye care service to those who cannot get to their local store unaccompanied, whether living in their own homes or in care homes, including NHS funded eye examinations, dispensing of glasses and aftercare.
