Staff at Specsavers Livingston recently completed a sponsored 10k walk in aid of charities Alzheimer Scotland and Jak’s Den, raising £2,926.
The team took on the 10k walk from Lennoxtown to Fintry in order to raise vital funds for charities close to their hearts, due to members of staff within the store being directly affected by both diseases.
Fundraising for a good cause
Jak’s Den – based in Livingston – offers emotional, social and practical support to children and young people all over Scotland who have been diagnosed with cancer or who have sadly been bereaved.
Ted Akil, store director at Specsavers Livingston, said: ‘The sponsored walk was a fun way for our team and their families to spend time together while raising money for charity.
‘I am extremely proud of the team for completing this challenge and raising significant funds for these fantastic charities.’ The funds will be split equally between the charities with each receiving a £1,463 donation.
