Well done to Nicky
Nicky Catherine was delighted to recently pass her professional certificate in medical retina. The certificate provides optometrists like Nicky with the opportunity to expand their knowledge of common medical retina conditions, their diagnosis, referral and management.
Nicky said: 'As an optometrist, it is always good to expand your knowledge and keep up to date with the latest innovations and industry thinking. My qualification provides me with extra knowledge of common medical retina conditions and how to conduct certain tests like diabetic retinopathy screening. It assures customers too of the quality of service provided by Specsavsers in Leatherhead.'
Well done to Gobikrishan
Gobikrishan Sivalingam now has the letters 'BSC MC Optom' after his name, meaning he is a fully qualified optometrist. His qualification means he is fully accredited to examine customers' eyes to detect defects in vision, signs of injury, ocular diseases or abnormality and problems with general health, such as high blood pressure or diabetes.
Within his role, Gobikrishan will make health assessments, offer clinical advice, offer corrective eyewear solutions and refer customers on for further treatment when necessary. Gobikrishan said: 'I am delighted to be a member of the College of Optometrists and will look to further my career at a later stage by taking further qualifications to develop my expertise in certain specialist areas of practice.'
