This autumn sees Specsavers launch its most comfortable range of specs yet, having been tried, tested and approved by the very customers that asked for them.

New ComFit collection

Designed specifically to provide complete comfort for older glasses wearers, the new ComFit collection will launch in Specsavers stores nationwide this September.

It follows an extensive research and development effort, which culminated with a dedicated focus group of customers trialling the glasses. The team of 19, all aged over 70, were invited to swap their regular specs for a pair from the new ComFit range and were encouraged to keep a week-long diary about their experiences. The feedback was then discussed through a series of interviews where customers were able to talk about what they liked and how the frames could be improved.

Styles to suit everyone

The range includes 20 female and 19 male glasses, features a variety of sleek and sophisticated styles in a multitude of modern, lightweight materials. From sporty metal and acetate, rimless and semi-rimless frames and clip on polarised lenses for sun protection, there’s a style to suit everyone.

Furthermore, all the ComFit glasses incorporate a combination of Specsavers’ specially designed comfort features, including flexible hinges, comfort nose bridges, soft silicone pads and temple tips, to provide customers with the ultimate fit and wearability.

Comfort guaranteed

Mr B McGrail, a Specsavers customer who participated in the product trial, said: ‘When I’ve got the ComFit glasses on, I forget I’m even wearing them. They’re so light and the fit of the nose pads is really comfortable.’

Specsavers’s clinical spokesman Dr Nigel Best said: ‘We know that older glasses wearers can have different needs when it comes to the fit and feel of their specs. The testimonials we received from our focus groups helped shape the ComFit collection, ensuring it provides older customers with the comfort, quality and style they demand.

The nose bridges and pads designed to provide additional comfort were very popular, and many customers said the wide range of different styles meant they were able to find the perfect pair to suit their face.’

The ComFit collection is available in stores from Monday 5 September, priced at £99 each and available as part of Specsavers’ two for one offer.
