Staff at Specsavers Launceston thanked customers for helping them with their recent appeal for new teddy bears.

The store had joined other businesses around Cornwall as part of the Pirate FM Ready Teddy Go appeal to collect new teddy bears. The bears were then collected and donated to Treliske Hospital for fundraising activities to raise even more money for the new maternity and neonatal unit.

The best start

Specsavers Launceston store director, Julia Peggs, said: ‘Thank you so much to everyone that contributed to the appeal. We had a wonderful response, which will no doubt go a long way to helping the team at Treliske kit out the new facility, offering the best start to life for every baby born in Cornwall.’

What is the The BABA appeal?

The Cornwall Birth and Baby Appeal was set up by Royal Cornwall Hospitals to give Cornish babies the very best start in life. The appeal is raising money for additional equipment and enhancements to the maternity and neonatal units.
