Store makes massive spin
The Lakeside opticians have made a huge effort to raise a whopping amount of money for Red Nose Day by cycling 286 miles on an exercise bike.
Specsavers in Lakeside joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Red Nose Day by pledging to raise at least £300 this year – but the team went above and beyond in their efforts and raised a phenomenal £1,460.58!
On your bike
Staff took it in turns to have a stint riding on the instore exercise bike to complete the mammoth mileage.
The store was inspired by the Red Nose Day poster featuring the Mona Lisa, and decided to set a 286 mile target – the distance from Lakeside Intu shopping centre to the Lourve Museum in France, in which the Mona Lisa is showcased.
Up for the challenge
Jay Visrolia, Store Director at Specsavers in Lakeside, says: ‘We had such a fun time supporting Red Nose Day in previous years, so we couldn't resist doing something for the great cause again.
‘The whole team were up for the challenge and had a lot of fun while doing it. And, of course, we're proud to have raised lots of money for Red Nose Day 2017.’
