Sweet treats for Valentine's Day

Specsavers opticians in Keighley has raised over £100 this Valentine’s Day, after holding a bake sale to raise money for charity.

Staff from Specsavers in Keighley made their own cakes, buns and tray bakes to sell to the public, with all proceeds going to the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

Store director Nigel Wilson said that they were thrilled to be supporting the RNIB in its mission to make daily life better for people affected by sight loss.

‘The RNIB is a charity close to our hearts, as we see daily the effect sight loss can have on people,’ said Nigel.

‘Holding a bake sale for Valentine’s Day was just one of the ways for us to help raise money for a good cause, and also treat the public with some sweet treats.’

The RNIB raise awareness of the wide variety of sight problems, as well as ways to prevent sight loss. The charity also campaign for better services and a more inclusive society.
