Keighley calls on community to donate to homeless charity
Specsavers in Keighley is calling for the local community to donate food in store to help the homeless this Christmas.
The team has placed a shopping trolley inside the store, and are urging the public to drop off food items such as tinned fruits and vegetables, pasta, soups and biscuits.
Everything that is kindly donated by the public will be given to local charity St George’s Crypt.
About the charity
A Leeds based homeless charity that supports those living on the streets to make positive choices in their lifestyle, St George’s Crypt is a cause that staff at the Keighley store work with regularly, volunteering weekly and providing eye tests and services for the homeless.
A word from the store director
Raj Gill, store director at Specsavers in Keighley, said: ‘Everyone deserves to have something for Christmas, so we’re calling for the community to come together and donate anything they can to help.
'A little goes a long way, so even if one person donates one item it will help give many more a merry Christmas.’
To donate please visit the store at the Airedale Shopping Centre and leave your donation in the shopping trolley inside the entrance.
