More than £600 raised
Generous staff and customers at an Irvine opticians have donated £612 to Comic Relief.
Staff from Specsavers in the Rivergate Shopping Centre organised fun activities in the run-up to Red Nose Day on 24 March. Staff encouraged customers to donate to the cause, and customers even got the chance to buy their own pairs of novelty red waving hand glasses.
Great fundraising spirit
Specsavers Irvine store director Gill Syme said: ‘We’re very proud to have raised such a fantastic amount for the cause. Everyone in the store really got into the spirit of raising money for Comic Relief we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated.
‘I’m sure the money will be of great benefit to people here in the UK and abroad.’
Specsavers in Irvine joined stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa as part of a drive to raise at least £250,000 for the charity. Specsavers has been a Comic Relief partner since 2015.
