Store director Jayesh Maru has just returned from a very big adventure – trekking the Inca Trail in Peru for the mental health charity Mind.
And the teams at his Specsavers stores in Bethnal Green, Dalston Cross and Hackney are all very proud of him.
Jayesh took part in the two-week charity challenge to reach Machu Picchu with his wife Dipa, alongside his colleague from the Specsavers stores in Acton, Chiswick, Ealing Broadway and West Ealing, Kam Gohil, and his wife Nishma. The team has already raised £3,560 - but there is still time to donate if you are feeling inspired.
This is not the first time Jayesh has taken on a big physical challenge, having already conquered Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895m/19,340ft), Everest Basecamp (5,380m/17,600ft) and Kala Patthar (5,644m/18,520ft).
A word from Jayesh
Jayesh said: ‘Mountain trekking is a big passion of mine, so I am delighted that I am able to do what I love and combine it with raising money for a very good cause.
‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me and the rest of the team by making such generous donations. You have made a massive difference.’
