Hillsborough raise vital funds for cancer care
The team at Specsavers in Hillsborough has once again participated in the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The team popped on their pinnies
The whole team baked up a storm, whipping up treats like shortbread, bakewell tarts and chocolate cake designed to tempt customers and passers by into donating to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The efforts were a huge success, with the donations ultimately totting up to more than £55.
Always happy to help
Store director Lorna Armitage said: ‘Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer so the team always makes a real effort to contribute to this wonderful event. The work that Macmillan Cancer Support does is vital and we are so pleased to be able to help support their efforts.
‘We’d really like to thank our customers for digging deep and supporting the bake sale – as usual, they were incredibly generous in their donations.’
An impressive running total
The 2017 World's Biggest Coffee Morning has so far raised more than £15.5m for Macmillan Cancer Support, which provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support for those living with cancer, as well as campaigning for better cancer care.
