A local team member at Specsavers High Wycombe has qualified as a Dementia Friend to improve her customer care for those suffering with the condition.
Sumaya Khan, administrative advisor, undertook the training which is run by the Alzheimer’s Society to improve understanding and awareness of the disease and the best ways to care for customers with dementia.

‘It’s been a really interesting and eye-opening course to understand the needs of those suffering from dementia.’ said Sumaya.
‘Since this training, I now feel like I have the confidence to deal with any customer who comes in-store and needs additional help because of a condition like Alzheimer’s.
'It’s fantastic that Specsavers and the Alzheimer’s Society have collaborated to offer employees, like myself, this kid of training.’
