Dodgeball tournament raises money for Comic Relief
A dodgeball competition held by Specsavers Hereford has raised more than £650 for Comic Relief.
The store held the charity competition on Sunday 19 March at Hereford Leisure Centre, which saw 11 teams competing against each other. Each team contributed a £40 entry fee to play and, along with the proceeds from a raffle that was held on the day, took the total raised to £683.
For the second year running the DM Sliders triumphed, picking up exactly where they left off last year. The team was presented with a trophy, medals and prize of a meal for the whole team at The Beefy Boys restaurant in Hereford.
‘We’ve been doing this for 11 years now, raising money for various charities and it’s always a great day,’ says store director Nialle Smith. ‘A big thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a success, helping us to raise money for Comic Relief. The DM Sliders seem to be an unstoppable force!’
