Give us a wave in Hemel Hempstead for Comic Relief
Visitors to Hemel Hempstead Specsavers joined in with this year’s Comic Relief theme ‘give us a wave’ by purchasing a pair of wacky waving-hand glasses for just £2 to support the charity. Red Nose Day fell on Friday 24 March, and the team raised a fantastic £878.
Not only did the store sell the glasses but they also had fun and exciting activities planned for their loyal customers. Children had a chance to get their faces painted outside the store; the team also collected donations of old glasses for repairs and adjustments.
A word from the director
Shane Abbas Bhimani, clinical director at Specsavers Hemel Hempstead, says: ‘Our Comic Relief activity is a really easy way for Hemel Hempstead residents to make a big difference collectively to this amazing cause. For just £2, we can help vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.
He continues: ‘We are also challenging locals to join our giant Mexican wave on social media as well. Just strike a pose with your glasses and post with the #GiveUsAWave to receive your very own wave back.’
