Extra mile to support charity cycle
Last month 7 members of the Specsavers team from the Essex region took part in a charity cycle to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The brave Specsavers staff cycled an impressive 64 miles across the Essex County in a bid to raise as much money as possible for their chosen cause.
Sarah Flowers, store director at Specsavers in Harlow, was on-hand to support the team the whole way.
On-hand to help
She followed the team for the full 64 miles in her car just in case any accidents occurred or anyone needed any assistance.
Sarah also made sure to take plenty of pictures of the fundraising activities and was also on-hand to hand out bananas and cookies to the team members to keep them going along the way.
Speaking about the day, Sarah said: ‘I’m so pleased to be part of such a wonderful day. The Alzheimer’s Society is such a great cause and the whole team raised so much money for the charity.
‘I wanted to be able to support the event in any way I could, so I made sure I was there the whole way to hand out snacks and drinks and cheer the cyclists on their way.’
