A brave member of the Greenford team has shaved off his beard and moustache – and plans to grow it back this month in support of Movember.

Phil Moss, contact lens and DVLA supervisor at the store – in The Broadway – has braved the shave to raise awareness of men’s health issues.

Raising awareness

Movember, which is 10 years old this year, is an awareness and fundraising month which exists to raise awareness of issues like male cancers and suicide risk.

Nawaz Haque, store director in Greenford, said: ‘I am really proud of Phil. It is very unusual to see him without facial hair, and I am sure our customers will be surprised to see the difference.’

Helping men live longer and healthier lives

‘On average, men across the world die six years younger than women, for reasons that are largely preventable. We need to raise awareness of how men can take action to live longer and healthier lives, and what Phil is doing is just a small, but important, part of that.’
