Specsavers in Gloucester ended 2018 on a high, having raised almost £1,200 for local charity, Pied Piper.

The team dedicated the month of December to fundraising for the worthy cause, hosting sweet and savoury bake sales, a tombola and a raffle. Anyone who bought glasses in December could enter into a prize draw for the chance to win back the cost of their frames and lenses with a £1 donation to the charity.

A word from the store director

Store director, Paul Chessell said: ‘I’m so proud of the efforts from the whole team to raise money for Pied Piper. It was great to see everyone get involved and of course we want to thank our customers who so generously supported the events in store.

‘Pied Piper do amazing work in our county and make a real difference to the lives of sick and disabled children so being able to help them continue their work is a great feeling.’

Founded in 1992, Pied Piper is the leading children's charity in Gloucestershire, funding medical and practical equipment that enhances care and treatment for children in hospital and in the special schools in Gloucestershire. For more information visit www.piedpiperappeal.co.uk
