Picking the right sunglasses can require practice and patience. You need to find something that adapts to your face’s shape and size and also that properly protects you from the dangers of UV rays.
Top tips for choosing sunglasses
Matthew Trusty, store director at Specsavers in Dover and Deal, shares his top tips for finding the perfect sunglasses for the summer.
‘Matching your face shape to your favourite designer style is essential. There are four basic face shapes — square, round, oval or heart. Once you find your face shape, finding the perfect pair (or three!) of sunglasses is very straightforward.
‘If you are not sure about your face shape, pop in for a chat and our trained sales assistants will be on hand to help you pick what’s right for you. Don’t forget to check that all sunglasses you buy bear the CE kite mark and are UV400 effective – all ours do. Protecting your eyes from UV rays is very important and shouldn’t be underestimated!’
