Alzheimer’s Research UK has received a donation of more than £500 after staff at Specsavers Forfar completed its ‘Running Down Dementia’ challenge.

Crossing the finish line

Determined staff walked, swam and cycled further than the equivalent of John O’Groats to Lands’ End, after smashing their original goal of 1,407km by an extra 180km.

Blair Michie, store director at Specsavers in Forfar, said: ‘We would like to thank everyone who contributed towards our fantastic fundraising total.

‘It has taken several months but we are delighted to have crossed the finish line and we even managed a little further than our 1,407km goal.

‘All our staff have worked hard to cover the distance and help raise awareness of this superb charity.’
